Materials & Craftsmanship

Materials

The yarns used in NOHI wall hangings are made of 80% recycled cotton and 20% polyester. The yarns are knotted onto a PEFC-certified pine dowel, treated with an odourless, water-based wood wax. This prevents the wood from yellowing and ensures it remains beautiful for years to come.

Craftsmanship

Each NOHI wall hanging is made entirely by hand. The yarns are dyed by immersing them in textile dye, and the finishing process also involves brushes and spray bottles. The piece is left to dry between colour layers, and the creation process takes several days. This slow, hands-on approach makes every work individual and truly one of a kind.

Hanging Instructions

When your piece arrives, the yarns may be slightly curled from packaging. You can gently straighten them with your fingers. Once hanging, they will naturally fall straight within a few days.

You will need 2–3 screws and, if necessary, the same number of wall plugs depending on the wall material. Leave the screws approximately 25 mm protruding from the wall and place the piece on them. The yarns neatly cover the small screw heads, resulting in a clean and finished look.

Alternatively, the piece can be suspended from the ceiling using transparent line.

Care & Cleaning

NOHI wall hangings are intended for decorative use only and are not suitable for washing with water. Dust can be removed by gently shaking, wiping with a microfiber cloth, or carefully vacuuming.
